Professor Susan Barratt

Office: Beveridge Arts Centre, Rm 438
Phone: (902) 585-1102
Susan completed a BA in English and a BFA in Dance at Concordia University, before continuing on to be certified as a Laban Movement Analyst (CMA) through the Laban/Bartenieff Institute for Movement Studies in NYC and UQAM in Montreal. She has recently been training as an Antigym practitioner and trainer – the only one in Canada east of Saskatoon.
Her checkered dance career includes ballet, jazz, modern, contact improvisation, swing, tango, African dance, authentic movment, physical theatre, clown and most likely other things she no longer remembers. She is a reading addict, and likes to learn new things as often as possible. She is also a big fan of anatomy.
In 2016-17 Susan will be on sabbatical and has been invited to teach a Laban training module at the U of Pretoria, South Africa. She will also be collaborating on an original theatre/movement performance, and continuing her Antigym training in Paris.
