Samantha Wilson

Samantha is an award-winning director and actor with over 25 years of professional experience in the theatre and film industry. Her work has been showcased across Canada and for prestigious theatre companies and festivals around the world. As a director, she works on productions ranging from contemporary new Canadian works, to reimagined classics and musical theatre. Her focus has always been on strong visual language and fostering collaborative environments where artists can take creative risks and stories can deeply resonate with audiences.

Samantha was Director of Neptune Theatre’s Touring Company and Director of Neptune Theatre School from 2005-2010 and a co-founder of DMV Theatre in 2008. She has directed and taught for Sheridan College and  York University in Ontario and Mount Allison University in New Brunswick. She is currently part-time faculty at Dalhousie University and Acadia University.

In 2019 she began a specialization, working as an Intimacy Coordinator and Intimacy Director in film and theatre, becoming the first person to hold this role in Atlantic Canada. Since that time, Samantha has been at the forefront of intimacy coordination in Nova Scotia, and is committed to fostering safe, authentic and impactful stories on stage and screen. Samantha was trained by Intimacy Coordinators and Directors (USA) and is a member of Intimacy Coordinators Canada.
