Sally Morgan has been a part of the Canadian dance community in many capacities for over 20 years. She has studied internationally and her choreographic/film work has been presented across Canada, in Europe and the USA.
Sally is fortunate to have been awarded several grants/scholarships through regional, national and academic funding bodies. Most Recent Projects: bodyplacebody (2015), Lostsolastalgia (2014), i am where i am (2013/14), Dancing My Way Home (2013), the ‘here’ score (2012). She has performed for/collaborated with many artists over the past 20 years, most recently with Musician Andrew Mark and Architect Joshua Collins.
Sally holds a BFA (Dance), trained through The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, completed a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Education and a Masters in Environmental Studies. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Dance Studies at York University. Sally coordinates the Somatic Movement Exploration Lab (SME Lab) with Meryem Alaoui, and is also a certified Yoga and Pilates instructor. She regularly lives in Toronto with her daughter, spending summers in Nova Scotia.
Research Interests: Ecosomatics, Somatic Movement Education, Post Modern Dance, Improvisation, Embodiment, Performance and Ecology, Site Specific Performance, Relational, Embodied and Environmental Ethics, Place Based/Environmental Education.
