Research Interests: Acting Methods, Directing History, Italian Renaissance and Baroque Theatre, Italian Canadian Theatre

Teacher: Academic and Studio: Anna has trained actors in conservatory, liberal arts, as well as private studio settings. She’s a longstanding member of CAEA and ACTRA, holds a BFA from the School of Dramatic Art, University of Windsor, and an MA and PhD in Drama from the University of Toronto.  She’s also proud to have been mentored as an actor, director and teacher by some wonderful people, notably the late Veteran New York Actors’ Studio Member, Janine Manatis.  Anna’s teaching, whether in a traditional classroom or a performance space, brings together the rigors of scholarly pursuit with the fearlessness of creative exploration.

Selected Publications and Honors: Anna has published numerous essays, book and play reviews, as well as several books on the history and practice of directing, including On Directing (2014) and Stanislavsky and Directing (2008). She is presently compiling the first Anthology of Plays by Canadians of Italian Heritage. In addition, Anna has created and produced over twenty local, national and/or international theatre arts conferences and workshops
