Measure for Measure
The city is in turmoil. The Duke has vanished and his Deputy enforces the letter of the law. The brothels will be shut down and a young man will die for sleeping with his fiancée. Unless… can Isabella save her brother at the cost of her moral values? In Shakespeare’s dark comedy, society’s elite do what they can while the cast-off do what they must. And can a puppet have sex with a human? With music by Rammstein, Jane Siberry, Jacques Brel and more, the Acadia Theatre Co.’s production of Measure for Measure will delight, startle and ask age-old questions we struggle with today.
Measure for Measure runs at 8pm, 18-21 November at Lower Denton Theatre on the Acadia campus. Tickets available from the Acadia Box Office
